Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 ½ cups warm water

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, and salt.
  • Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the olive oil, chopped rosemary, minced garlic, and warm water.
  • Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until it forms a sticky dough.
  • Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it.
  • Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release the air.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a loaf or any desired shape.
  • Place the shaped dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) while the dough is proofing.
  • Once the dough has risen again, remove the kitchen towel and score the top of the bread with a sharp knife.
  • Place the baking sheet with the dough in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
