- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- 50 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Candied fruits or raisins optional
- Lemon or orange zest optional
Preparation: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan.
Mix dry ingredients:In a large bowl, mix the semolina with the sugar and a pinch of salt.
Add the butter: Melt the butter and add it to the semolina mixture.
Add the milk: Heat the milk until it is warm (not boiling) and add it to the mixture. Stir well.
Add eggs: Beat the eggs and add the vanilla essence. Add this mixture to the bowl with the semolina.
Add extras: If you wish, you can add candied fruits, raisins or lemon/orange zest at this time.
Bake: Pour the mixture into the previously greased mold and bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until golden and firm to the touch.
Cool: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding.
