Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 50 g of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Candied fruits or raisins optional
  • Lemon or orange zest optional

Instructions

  • Preparation: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients:In a large bowl, mix the semolina with the sugar and a pinch of salt.
  • Add the butter: Melt the butter and add it to the semolina mixture.
  • Add the milk: Heat the milk until it is warm (not boiling) and add it to the mixture. Stir well.
  • Add eggs: Beat the eggs and add the vanilla essence. Add this mixture to the bowl with the semolina.
  • Add extras: If you wish, you can add candied fruits, raisins or lemon/orange zest at this time.
  • Bake: Pour the mixture into the previously greased mold and bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until golden and firm to the touch.
  • Cool: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding.
