- 1 cup butter softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, then vanilla.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the batter, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
Pour batter into the pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
