- 1 box German chocolate cake mix or chocolate cake mix
- 1 box 3.4 oz / 96 g instant chocolate pudding mix (dry)
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Optional Add-Ins
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk for extra gooey texture
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle the dry instant pudding mix evenly on top of the cake mix.
Slowly pour the milk over the dry ingredients. Do not stir.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the surface.
Sprinkle the shredded coconut and chopped pecans evenly over the top.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is soft but not liquid.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 10–15 minutes before serving.
