In a large bowl, pour in the milk and add the vanilla essence and sugar. Then stir so that it is well mixed and the sugar is completely dissolved. Then add the butter at room temperature and mix until it becomes a smooth, creamy consistency.
Next, if you prefer a chocolate variation, add the cocoa powder and mix until completely incorporated.
Then, cool the mold or use a fountain, and start assembling the cake. Let’s start by placing a layer of cookies on the bottom of the fountain, leaving the entire surface covered.
Then, on top of the cookies place a layer of the milk and butter mixture, leaving it completely covered, now repeat the process again alternating layers of cookies and the mixture until you’ve used up all the ingredients.
Next, decorate the cake with the ingredients of your choice, such as nuts, chocolate chips or fresh fruit.
Finally, cover the cake with cling film or a lid and put it in the fridge to rest for about 4 hours, or if you prefer, leave it overnight, so that the cookies soften and form a wonderful texture.
