Ingredients

  • 1 Packet of Instant Yeast 10g
  • ¼ Cup Warm Water
  • 1 Cup Warm Milk
  • 2 Tbsp White Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • 3 ½ Cups White Bread Flour
  • 2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg for an Egg Wash

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add the Instant Yeast, warm Water, warm Milk and Sugar. Stir to combine and allow yeast to proof for 5 minutes until bubbling.
  • Add Eggs and the 1 Tbsp of Melted Butter, whisk to combine. Then add 2 cups of White Bread flour and the Salt, stir into a slack dough.
  • If using an electric mixer: Start mixing the dough with a dough hook and slowly add the remaining flour until a soft dough is formed, then knead for a further 5 minutes.
  • If using by hand: Add remaining dough 1 cup at a time while kneading until a soft dough is formed, then knead for a further 5 minutes.
  • Add kneaded dough to a bowl and allow to rise for an hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 190 C and prepare a baking tray by spraying with non-stick spray.
  • Divide the dough into 9 or 12 pieces for large or regular rolls respectively and roll into balls. Place onto greased baking tray. Allow to rise again until double its size.
  • Brush each roll with an egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes, until browned.
  • Enjoy your Soft bread rolls.
