- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 cloves garlic finely minced
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt and pepper to taste
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
Add the garlic and Italian seasonings, and cook until fragrant for about 1 minute.
Whisk in the flour to form a paste.
Slowly pour in the broth, whisking constantly until smooth and well combined.
Bring the mixture to a low simmer over medium heat for about 2 minutes, or until it thickens.
Add the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Whisk and heat until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Season to taste with salt and pepper, adjusting to your preference.
Enjoy the sauce over pasta, on top of pizza, or as a dipping sauce.
