Ingredients

  • METT
  • 500 gr
  • ONION FINELY CHOPPED
  • 2 tbsp
  • GARLIC CHOPPED
  • 1 clove
  • SALT
  • 1 1/4 tsp
  • BLACK PEPPER
  • 1/2 tsp
  • CAYENNE
  • 1/8 tsp
  • Ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp
  • DRIED THYME
  • 1/4 tsp
  • FRESH SAGE CHOPPED
  • 1 tbsp
  • BREADCRUMBS
  • 1 tbsp
  • PUFF PASTRY
  • 1 roll
  • EGG YOLKS BEATEN
  • 1 SESAME SEEDS OPTIONAL

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a bowl, mix meat with onion, garlic, salt and pepper, all spices and breadcrumbs.
  • Make 2 sausages, making sure to wet your hands slightly so they don’t stick. Place the two sausage mixture in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut into two rectangles the same size as the sausage mixture. You can put them in the fridge for a few minutes to make them easier to process. Now place the sausage mixture on one side of the dough. Begin folding the dough over the meat filling.
  • Brush the edges of the dough with egg yolk and roll out until finished.
  • Squeeze the roll to make a better seal. Repeat with the other sausage mixture, then refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • Cut into slices, brush with remaining egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  • Place the rolls, seam side down, in the baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes
  • Serve and enjoy!
