SAUCE
- 1/4 cup of vegetable broth
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
LO MEIN
- 8 ounces of lo mein noodles cooked according to package instructions
- 1 large carrot julienned
- 1 cup of chopped broccoli
- 1 large red bell pepper sliced
- 1 medium onion sliced
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of oil for frying
SAUCE
In a bowl, combine broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Whisk until everything is well combined. Set aside.
LO MEIN
In a preheated skillet with oil, fry carrots until golden brown. Remove and set aside. Repeat this process with onions, broccoli, and bell peppers. Cooking the vegetables separately enhances their flavors.
Add all the vegetables back to the skillet. Press garlic into the vegetables and toss everything together.
Next, add the lo mein noodles and sauce. Toss everything together and let the lo mein cook for 3-5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and serve immediately.
